Who We Treat

Wayfinder Health has programs made just for teens ages 12–17 who need more than one therapy session a week, but don't need to stay overnight at a facility. And if your teen also has an intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD) — we've got you covered too. We're one of the few programs that specializes in supporting both. Sound like your family? We may be a great fit if your teen is dealing with:

  • Anxiety or depression that's getting in the way of everyday life
  • Trauma or painful experiences from the past
  • Thoughts of self-harm or suicide
  • Big emotional outbursts or conflict with family and friends
  • Trouble at school — or avoiding school altogether
  • Bullying or struggles with gender identity
  • A developmental or intellectual disability that's making things harder

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE PROGRAMS?

A peek into your teen’s day:

🧠 Therapy that works: Group sessions using real, proven methods like CBT and DBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy) to help teens understand their feelings and change unhelpful patterns (individual and family sessions as needed)

🎨 Art & music therapy: Sometimes it's easier to express yourself through creativity, and that's totally okay here

🏀 Fun, active groups: Think playground, basketball, and team games — because moving your body is good for your mind

📚 Life skills you'll actually use: Things like sleep habits, healthy eating, meal prep, and even job interview tips

👨‍👩‍👧 Family is part of it too: Parents and guardians join in regularly, because healing works better together
